Plans for a remake of 1937's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" were confirmed in October 2016, with Erin Cressida Wilson announced as a screenwriter. Filming took place primarily in London, England, from March to July 2022, with additional filming and pick-ups taking place in June 2024.
The film elicited pre-release controversies, with criticism levied against the color-blind casting and reimagining of the Seven Dwarfs.

She is a woman who refuses to be overshadowed, seeing Snow White as a threat to her rule rather than just a rival in beauty.
- JonathanAndrew BurnapInstead of a "classic" prince who saves the Snow White with a kiss, Jonathan is said to be a brand-new character, separate from the traditional love interests seen in previous versions of Snow White. Jonathan is expected to be more than just a love interest. He may be a friend, ally, or even a figure with his own ambitions and struggles.
